Mariposa's prinicpal Marianne Lescher is dedicated to making Mariposa the best school in the state. They have been rated an A+ school twice which is a huge accomplishment. Mariposa is truelly a 10. Parental support is very strong, and there is a lot of diversity among the population. Safety is always a concern. Mariposa is a good school, and I do feel my son is learning. The only problem, is that the school is in the state of Arizona. So the fact that the school does well, really isnt saying much. They do not have a sports team, but offer extracurricular activites.(too expensive for my taste, so I send him to Kiwanis) I am not sure about the parent envolvement, they do offer activities that the parents can participate in. This is a top notch school with simply the best kindergarten and first grade teachers to be found. The principal is very hands on and extremely dedicated. That said, it is difficult to obtain formal testing for special education and nearly impossible to get special education services. This school

Read more has many 'intervention' programs that they will dedicate to a student - generally increasing a student's ability, however, depriving the student and family of the rights and educational services and supports afforded under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. In some ways, it is great that they work so hard to prevent a child from being labeled. In other ways, one has to wonder what they are trying to prove by having an impossibly low number of special education eligible children - could it be the district lacks required qualified personnel? Our son has attended school here since 2nd grade. All of his teachers have always gone above and beyond the call of duty to help him overcome the many challenges he faces. The staff is absolutely phenomenal. They truly care about all the students. I only wish all schools had this degree of caring

This school is aswsome they teach kids so much. my daughters favorite 5th grade teacher was mr.nestuk. in his class they did a lot of hands on stuff like dissecting cows eyes and working with a sheep heart. she says it was so much fun. her favorite 3rd and 2nd grade teacher was Mrs.briggs. in her class

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
