My son has attended Bustoz since Kindergarten and is now in the 4th grade. We LOVE this school, the teachers and the administrator. He is challenged and feels comfortable at this school. Everyone down to the School Nurse and the maintenance staff goes that extra mile to care for the kids. Everyday

My son started Kindergarten this year and is excelling beyond my expectations. The office staff is the friendliest staff I have met in the Arizona school system. Not only does my son attend school here, but I have been lucky enough to be aloud to observe classrooms on my quest to become an educator myself.
... Read more The teachers are teaching from the first bell in the morning to the last bell in the afternoon and they are doing it with passion and excitement. My sons teacher has recognized his need for a more challenging curriculum and has done all she can to help enrich his learning. I was very blessed to have found this school hidden away! Wonderful school. Before my son entered kindergarten, he couldn't recognize letter. By the end of the school year he was reading fluently. The small class sizes and caring attitude of staff members makes a great difference. I'm glad I found this school.

Bustoz may be the smallest school in the Tempe Elementary School district, yet is one of the best. My children currently attend Bustoz and I have found the administration and teachers extremely responsive to my concerns. The teachers work to incorporate the Multiple Intelligences Theory into their lessons which has improved my childrens ability to grasp concepts and ideas. There is a great diversity

As with most (if not all) Arizona public schools, there is a major problem with class/racism that is largely ignored and never addressed. This ignorance is very apparent in the interactions of the students, as they tend to blurt out what their parents/other students say with no regard to consequence.

Read more Multiple instances of racial remarks and outlandish behaviour by students have been brought to the attention of school officials with no resolution beyond 'That's horrible' and 'We should do something'. As my child had to bear the brunt of hurtful and outright hateful comments, remarks, and gestures with nobody stepping up and stopping it-it's private school then. Read less

Advanced Placement
