We moved here last year and I really can't say anything good about Rancho Gabriela at this time. My son was attending a Phoenix school with an IEP and was doing very well were he would not need the IEP any longer. However, when he finished this year with Rancho Gabriela according to his test scores he

When I asked the teacher if she communicates with my son's IEP instructor or even work together to see how my son is doing, she stated 'no I don't know what he does there'. This surprised me because when my son attended a Phoenix school the teacher, IEP instructor, and the principle were all involved. I don't think this is a good school for anyone with special needs, even if it's in one area, as in reading. Read less

I have two boys attending Rancho Gabriela. Kindergarten and Second grade. They both are excelling wonderfully. I transferred my older son last year here from a Charter School nearby. There were a few issues at the Charter School that I feel didn't get addressed quick enough. Since I moved my son

By the way, my son in kindergarten is more advanced in reading and math than when my older son was in kinder at the charter school. The teachers at Rancho Gabriela are awsome!! I have been attending this school since it opened, and I must say that it's great! Both the seventh and eighth grade teachers really have the sort of hands-on approach to teaching that kids really need to survive in high school. There are plenty of things to do, like selling snow cones after school.

This school has poor discipline, most of the time they do not evwn care what the students do. Some teachers even sware and do not try to set a very good example at this school. Both our children have gone to Rancho Gabriela since it opened. We have been extremely impressed with K-2 teachers and the 4-6 have been very good. The class sizes are large but the teachers somehow still manage to focus on each child and are very willing to work with the student & parents. We have

WE are very happy with Rancho Gabriela, we moved to the area last year, just in time for our son to start Kindergarden there. Half way through the year he started coming home with homework and spelling words and learned the basics of reading and math...that is something I never did when I was in Kindergarden!

I think Arizona's standards are too low. The work isn't challenging enough for both my son and daughter. Half the year my daughter ended up doing book reports alone in class so the other students could catch up. The class sizes are too large. Special education is needed. I am not pleased at all. I'm

The worst school my daughter has attended. If your son/daughter has an IEP, be prepared to not be supported. This school lacks caring, and support mechanisms that special education students need.
