Children who attend aztec go on to higher education taking with them, the foundations and principals that create strong, ethical and high-contributing citizenship. The parent involment is also very high and important for enabling the individualized learning. I can't say enough great things about this school. After careful consideration, we chose to leave a very popular Charter School in the area to give our daughter (2nd grader) an opportunity to go to her neighborhood school. ... Read more know anyone in her new class. We chose a multi-age class (2nd and 3rd Grade combined / Mrs. Miller) and she has truly thrived. She made friends instantly and they welcomed her from the start. She looks forward to school every day and is excited about learning. The teaching style (theme based) has made learning fun and interesting and still offers quite a challenge where she needs it. I chose Aztec after much research when we moved here. I have two children in the multi-age classrooms. Both my children are ahead of their grade level in some areas. In a multi-age classroom my kindergardener can work at 1st grade math and yet has children her age to socialize with. I am not a big fan
... Read more of skipping grades but I still want my children to be academically challenged. There are private schools in the area that offer the same teaching model, so I feel lucky that I can get this at a public school. Read less

The hands-on learning approach that is supported with brain-based curriculum has helped him become a student who has the ability to think outside the box. The core curriculum now makes sense to him because the teachers take the time to teach the 'why' behind what the students are learning, rather than just have the students memorize facts and information. This teaching style allows students to make connections to real-life applications. It has been, and continues to be an outstanding experience for our family. We are really happy with the attention teachers give to students and parents. The small size groups allow our children to get the most of the classroom time. Also, the children do not only learn about math and science, but also some of the basic values to be a great person; like respect, honesty, cooperation

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
