I am a former student of Rio Rico HIgh School and attended there all four academic years. I have come to find that the school is very supportive of its students. and put an extreme effort into improving the school. For the most part, the AP classes are excellent, but regular ones are just busy work.
... Read more There are a lot of different clubs, although hardly any of them are active. They're resume builders. RRHS has an amazing support system for Freshmen especially; GEAR UP is amazing. They offer a lot of opportunity for success, but it is ultimately up to the student to achieve it. The biggest downfall of RRHS is the attitude of the students. Teachers struggle to get them to care enough to even graduate, so there is a lack of SAT prep. Surprisingly they have amazing local scholarship opportunities. Read less

well the school is in okay condition the ap teachers are wonderful and are very good regular teachers are okay some don't spend enough time with the students. sports and clubs are really good here exept for football. But for example the Cross country and track boys and girls are both state champs along

The cross country, wrestling and track are always perenial contenders for state championships along side soccer which is the current 4A-2 State Champs. Combine that with an amazing band, increddible chess team(which prepares you to be able to win large sums of money after graduation and assures you a trip to Las Vegas your senior year) you also have an amazing German exchange program that is an increddible opportunity for students which will give you memories for the rest of your lives. Well, I am a student at RRHS and i think this school is like all schools. It has good location and is a very calm school. It does not have as many extra-cirricular activities asother schools do, but then again the school does not recieve much. And if it does it maostly goes to the football program-which
... Read more hasn't only won one game in years. Although the football program isn't too hot the band is. It has won many awards for it's amazing sound. Cross Country, Basketball & Soccer has won many awards as well. Saftey in the school isn't as good as it should be. There is a small amount of secuirity guards in the school and it should go up. The teachers at RRHS are good at what they do and show they are here to help. But some, not all, show if they could they wouldn't be here. Read less

I have had a Student at Rio Rico High School every year it has been a School since it opened. They have excellent extracirricular activities. A top ranked Chess Club, a german Club that goes to Germany every other year, and a great Fine Arts department, With a Band that is second to none in the State.

They have many State Championships for a small school and have twice won State awards for the best athletic department in the Conferance. The students are polite and problems are few. All my family members were able to get good educations and scholarships for College, but they had to work for it. it only has 2 security guards for a very large school.the lunches do not tast good and they arent that healthy either.we dont have enouhg teaches for the amount of students.there is always something happening here.i dont always feel safe in this school.

THe quality of thsi high school is excellent. Teachers are highly certified, the location is great, extra curricular activities are improving each year considering the funds the school recieves...I would recommend RRHS to any parent looking for a great education for their child and a social environment

Academic programs are in fair quality, not due to poor teaching skills or lack of motivation to teach students, Extracurricular activities, though few, are well developed, particualarly the theatre and sports departments. Parent involvement is not all that common (there are the select few however),

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
