My daughter loves ALL of her teachers. The ongoing versatility she receives in art, music, science, and technology along with the personalized intensive level of reading, math, and creative writing instruction makes Summit have the full package! The parent involvement and volunteering is incredible. Principal O'Brien is caring, listens and is very active daily at the school! We have some of the most caring and inspirational teachers that make my children want to learn. One of the most important aspects is the community itself. When it was time for Kindergarten we read reviews on this website and we visited over 10 private schools in Phoenix (from Rancho Solano, PCDS, Tesseract, et al.). Summit stole the show. Two things got our attention. The kids were happy and the parents were visibly involved. The mood of the school

Summit is governed by a non-profit board that consists entirely of parents and staff (quite a few staff have their own kids attending Summit as well). The school library is entirely run by parents and volunteers. Parents are even invited to volunteer within the classrooms. Our son is now in 2nd grade and fits in comfortable with his peers and feels love and respect from his teachers. Exactly the outcome we were looking for. ... Read more high expectations at this school, and if you don't meet them, then you are not good enough. I personally struggle with the math here at this school and think that the school should have more than two math classes for eighth grade. I have loved this school for a long time, But due to overwhelmingly high math expectations, i am leaving for 8th grade. Summit Rules though! Read less

Language arts and literature studies classes are 1 - 2 years ahead of my experience with local public schools, giving children incredible comprehension, analytical and writing skills. The classrooms were full of happy kids and happy staff. There was no idle chit chat or aimless wanderings. Everyone was engaged. I felt as light as feather as I left them there to play. When I came to get them I was greeted by 2 happy kids eager to tell me about the day. Summit's level of professionalism, personal commitment, knowledge base, and creativity is to be commended. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
