Most touching - early in the AM , over the loud speaker, the Principal will announce, 'all stand for the Pledge of Allegiance', every man, woman and even students waiting in the school nurse office will stand with hand over heart and recite with the Principal, The Pledge of Allegiance. Focus is on the individual child and what that child needs to have to succeed. The Honors classes have been expanded over the past 2 years, adding more Algebra and advanced Literacy classes. Don't just read the comments--Any parent looking for a great middle school should visit and sit in classes and talk to teachers and kids about the school. The OMS teachers are enthusiatic and work hard to motivate students. Both of my children attended OMS. This use to be a great school with a good academic focus. It seems to have lost that edge. The honors language and math programs have apparently been deemphasized and student life has become the focus. Lots of opportunities for kids to have fun, little chance to

My daughter graduated this school with honors she enjoyed all her life experiences here. Basketball was her very favorite, also here trip to Washington D.C. Now my son is entering 8th grade as he's so excited this year. I'm thankful for the great teaching staff and the diversity of programs OMS offers.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
