I agree with the writer that this school is hit or miss. Some of the teachers are very skilled and attuned with the kids while others not so much. The classrooms have been consistently overcrowding year by year and this seems to be having an effect on the staff morale and general atmosphere.

My opinion is for those people who are considering moving to this area. It isn't that the school or educators are of a lesser quality. If you have a choice or option as to what area to move to, and if the school is important to you, pick a different district that is less crowded. If I had properly

Last year, in 1st grade, her class size was large (approx 28 kids) and they added an extra class mid-year to rectify the situation. This year she only has 24 kids in her class which is perfect. I have had children here ever since it opened, and after a few rocky years where overcrowding was an issue (waiting for a new elementary school to open), this school has settled into a very nice school. There are a lot of very good teachers at this school. We lived in the KC area for 11 years, and

Honestly, beside the larger school size (which I don't like, but is the way schools are built these days, even in the KC area), my second daughter, who went 1-6 at Augusta Ranch, received just as good an education and thrived. My son, who has behavior issues, has had caring teachers who have truly tried to work with him all years except one (and that teacher is no longer at AR.) Read less
