Our Family has been attending Alma for 9 years. All our kids have received excellent educations. The teachers are exceptional and have gone out of their way to prepare our kids for Junior High and beyond. We love the family activities like family math night, reading under the stars and 1st grade P.E.

Our experience has been great. I love the staff and my kids learned a lot. We love the Band and Choir programs. The PE teachers are amazing. I have a difficult child and the principal is very helpful in finding ways to help him to have a great experience at school. We really like participating in

My preschooler just blossomed in Mrs. Kelly Noel's class. And his classmates ranged from normal to special needs, which I feel is esential in learning social skills. The teachers are patient and care verymuch for their students.

Worked several times at the school. Our youngest attends. Will be enrolling him into another school next year. Teacher & principal attitudes horrible. Gives off a 'just doing this for the pension' type attitude and this rubs off onto the students. You don't hear a lot laughter or sounds of happy
... Read more children at this school. Lunch is 7 minutes of 'lunch is a time to eat only....NO TALKING!' rushed affair. I have never heard the principal call out to a student BY NAME in a friendly 'how's your day going' type voice..only to reprimand & yell. This attitude has rubbed off on the teachers who are always complaining of being tired & 'having to deal with these kids'! I have no idea if the school has any outside, fun, get together type things going on as they never advertise or send things home. Wouldn't not recommend this school Read less

Six of the eight teachers my children have had while at Alma Elementary have been dedicatied and hard-working. They took the time to communicate with us on a weekly basis with reports, newsletters, etc. Homework assignments were given in an organized format. Specialists at Alma are great. About half
... Read more of the students come from Dobson Ranch and the rest of the children are bused in from central Mesa . And as the years have gone by more of them come to school speaking little English. Negatives are that the front office staff is rude and the principal does not have an open-door, friendly manner towards parents. Read less

My son has been attending Alma for 2 years. They have quality teachers, but the real problem I see is that they don't have extra help for those who really need it. I would like to see something for students who are being left behind due to more one on one attention at school.

We moved into neighborhood 10 yrs ago to raise our family here. We were very disappointed w/ Alma last yr and chose to enroll our children in a different school. Parents are discouraged from helping. They are a few really great teachers and staff.

Alma School is a good elementary school with excellent teachers. The staff is able to effectively address student's varying needs, whether that is extra assistance or extra challenge. The principal keeps the lines of communications open both with her teachers and parents. The 'special's' teachers

I believe that if the neighborhood parents would put more faith in this school and be more open minded and accepting of it's diverse student population it could be an even better school. Advanced Placement
