I'm currently a JR and I have seriously wasted 3 years of my life here. Every single year I've attended, I've gotten at least 3-4 teachers that have no idea what they're doing. Also, the security guards and honestly the worst people ever. They're not afraid to talk to students with disrespect. The students ...  Read more

As far as academics, the school's great. The IB program is officially starting this year. Most teachers try to stay after school to help us out which I find great. However, the school environment is what I can't stand. Students here are very closed off and stay close to their own group/clique. We tolerate ...  Read more

It is extremely sad when the negative responses on this site is based from uninformed individuals. People tend more to complain than to give kudos. This school is focused on the student as an entire person, intending on rendering the community with a well rounded asset to the community. There is cultural ...  Read more

I'm currently a Junior at Betty H. Fairfax High School,. This school is very good at academics (IB Program) and athletics. Fairfax is considered a performing plus and one of the best schools is the PUHSD. Prinicipal is extremely uncooperative and malicious. Teachers readily spread rumors and negate each others authority. Students are wild and out of control, due to no enforcement from security or administration. Academic expectations are extremely low, teachers ar merely urged to "rethink" their standards ...  Read more

The Performing rating for this school is solely from children that have transferred in from other districts and happen to be there during state testing. Teachers are not very motivated. Classes and instruction lack structure. Students are out of control in most classes. There is little to no homework. ...  Read more

Parental involvement is extremely low. The students are treated like children instead of young adults. Many of the teachers seem to have come here because they did not succeed at other schools and do not like being challenged by the students. Great teachers are willing to listen and learn from the ...  Read more

This school lacks alot of well organized activities for the students. Possibly because it is so new, there is really no school spirit. Parental involvement is low. There have been several bomb threats in the last 2 years. The Principal really doesn't do much for the students and isn't very visible. While ...  Read more

This school has a lot of activies for teenagers. My daughter and son really like going to this school and coming home with straight A's. Teachers, Security Guards, and the Principal are great!
