This school is so large and impersonal that, unless your child is in the honors program, no one seems to care. They lock the kids out of classrooms if they're even one minute late - depriving them of an entire day's worth of class. So much for academics. The whole staff could use customer service training!

I am currently a student at Ironwood and have to say that it does an excellent job at meeting my academic needs. I am an IB candidate and love the academic challenges presented to me at Ironwood. This school creates an environment that is welcoming to students of all levels and does not segregate the

The guidance office is always willing to help and the cousellors are able to offer advice and programs catered to any student's' wants and needs. Rules are strictly enforced, but easy to abide by. It doesn't matter who you are or what social group you are typically in, you will be accepted by a multitude of people on this campus. Ironwood seems highly competitive, especially among the honor students, but still manages to keep an exciting and accepting environment. Read less

Ironwood is a school that does not rest on its laurels - the admin and staff always strive to improve. The culture emphasizes that it is good to be smart. Athletics are also well supported. The teachers really care about their students. There is a strong club, Student Council, and service organization

The reasons I did not rate Ironwood as 5 stars have to do with the funding provided by the District. Teachers are struggling to get funds for the Arts and Music. Students are being asked to buy books in English classes and share books in Science because the District has not provided enough for all the students. The IB program conflicts with AP class offerings; some students can't take AP Physics for example. Read less

I am a former student of IHS. High school is all about what you make of it- I had a fantastic experience (and it wasn't that long ago). I am a former student of Ironwood. I would absolutly say that Ironwood is an amazing school. I have heard that some have dislike for the teachers and the gap between the levels of classes. To this I would say that high school is only as good as how much you put into it. Teacher and other staff members

The teachers are great - they really care about their students. The district never has enough money for all the programs they want to try, so parents have to come up with a lot of funding, or see the programs do without. The Band program is a good example of this. I think they do a great job with
