My son is a 6th grader at Mountain. We cannot say enough about this wonderful school. The teachers and administration are dedicated and nurturing. Parental involvement is phenomenal. My son's reading, reasoning, and vocabulary have all increased in just the first 2 months he has attended this school.

We waited 2 years to get into this school and it was well worth it. This school is the most parent oriented school in flagstaff. ... Read more with math, reading, and writing also at its forefront. Mountain School gives students a progressive type of education that cannot be obtained at most public schools. As a teacher myself, Mountain School provides students with critical thinking activities like Odessey of the Mind and many 'hands on' experiences through numerous field trips (five or six per year, in comparison to one or two at most schools). Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
