We have been very happy at this school. Mrs. Vanderham is a wonderful teacher and comes up with new and exciting ways to help kids learn. We love her 'Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader' game at the end of the year. She makes learning fun. My daughter also loves the BoxTop Store.

This school has improved immensely since the change in leadership 2 years ago. Thumbs up to our new Principal. Also, a thumbs up to Ms. Hileman (8th grade math teacher) for going the extra mile to help her students pass the AIMS test. Thanks for making a difference in children's lives.

We've been at this school 3 years now and I am very happy with the change in principals. She has been present and easily available whether it be after school when kids are being picked up or at any of the various PTO functions or nighttime activities. I would like to see more of parents invited to

We moved into the area from the East Coast, and the school quality was very important for us. We found DMS to be on par with private schools from the east. Overall our children are enjoying school and excelling at their age level. The teachers are wonderful and communication between teacher and parent

My children are doing very well at Desert Mountain school. The teacher is very nice and they get alot of extra help when they need it. There is always something fun going on. ... Read more DVSD school & at 1st I was nit-picky. Then, I learned to work with the school & ask for the justifications for policies & do as much volunteering as my schedule allows so I am aware of what is going on & that has really helped alot...there is no such thing as a perfect school, or for that matter a perfect child so it is all of our jobs to work together as parents, teachers/staff. If one of those components are missing or unwilling then that is the real problem. Read less

School has new principal who seems to be working hard to improve school. Parents are getting more involved and there is always somethings going on to keep kids busy. 2005-2006 PTO providing alot of fun activities for the children. We can see the school becoming better each year.

Advanced Placement

Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
