I believe that Oak Grove is improving. I believe that the administration is working hard to make it a great school. The problem with OGHS has been that the leadership at the PCSSD has allowed it decline. Theproblem with Oak Grove is the PCSSD. Until the county has leaders with a vision all of the PCSSD

I feel that Oak Grove is a decent school. As a graduate of the school, I feel I was well prepared for college, as I am currently in Nursing School at one of the most difficult programs in the state and making excellent grades. Many of the teachers are exceptional, however some are not too great. I
... Read more feel that is a problem at any school, though. Many of the problems at the school stem from uncooperative students and the teachers being extremely limited on how they are allowed to discipline them. The students know this and take advantage of it. Overall, I feel this school does an excellent job of preparing students for college and life, if the student is willing to learn and put forth the effort it takes to make it. Read less

As a student at Oak Grove High School I feel that it isn't a very good school. Most of the students at the school just don't really care about their grades and the test scores are terrible. There is also a lack of support from the teachers. There are a few good teachers, don't get me wrong, but the
... Read more majority show lack of control over their classes, uneducational assignments with know intellectual knowledge whatsoever, and are often unprepared for the class. With the lack of support from the teachers, and even from the parents, how are the students supposed to want to have good grades and do their work? Only about 60 percent of the 2006 class is graduating this year and I think that is completely unacceptable. Read less

This is in need of major improvment. It is sad that when it rains the school floods all over the place. What is even worse is that even in the classrooms it floods. I can say that the school does have a wonderful music program, and i would say one of the best english departments in the district.

Read more Also the principal is a very good man he does his best to insure that all of the children get a fair and good education, but the assistant principal shows favoritisum and has very bad communication skills. Me and several other parents feel that he is not an asset to the childrens education. When discipline problems occur he doen't try to hear the side of both childrens stories, and he gives the harshes punishment for the littlest offense. Read less

Advanced Placement

Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
