Both of my children have gone through this school with my youngest having graduated from the 5th grade back in May. The school is awesome and top notch. The teachers worked with my child who was working above grade level all the way through school. Our test scores speak for themselves. The staff

I have had 2 children go through this school and a 3rd child that has been there since Kindergarten (he is now in 4th grade). I also work in the education field and this is the only elementary school I would recommend in the Pulaski County Special School District. The teachers that my children have
... Read more had have been exceptional except for one. I haven't always been impressed with the administrators but 95% of the teaching staff is awesome. The test scores for Bayou Meto speak for themselves. However, test scores are not always indicative of the teachers. Read less

Let's face it, the school sits in Pulaski County. If you do some research you will find that in Pulaski County, this is one of the better schools. With that being said, it is still in sad shape. The school needs a complete face lift and the classrooms need some attention. As for the quality of teachers?
... Read more That is a hit or miss. I have meet some very nice teachers in that school that want to make a difference but I have also meet some teachers that are just there for a pay check. It appears because this school is so far out it lacks attention from the district. My question is; where is all our tax money going? It certainly is not going into our school system. There are no extra's here. There's no P.E. program / sports. They (Staff) do try to be creative with the children. Read less

If your child has any type of learning problems you would be better off going somewhere else. My daughter has ADHD and was in a 504 program when we moved from CATO elem. Bayoumeto has refused to honor her 504 plan and the only help offered to her is resource. She came to this school two years ago

My child has been harrassed and teased for a year and a half and I have spoke with the principal several times about this with little of nothing being done to stop the teasing. I would strongly recommend thinking it over before I placed my child here. This is our last year and I promise my baby will not attend this school. Bayou Meto Elementary School is a great school! My grandson attending this school is now in his 5th year. He has improved all of his learning skills, and he was at a 5th grade reading level in the 3rd grade! He also loves to experiment. He is very excited about this school year, and loves his teacher.

I was terribly disappointed: (1) during registration I felt the vice principal brushed off my concerns about my child being placed in kindergarten when she was already beyond the kindergarten curriculum. (2) the first day the teacher gave no orientation to parents saying rudely, 'Parents we love you

Advanced Placement
