Read what parents are saying about Faith Academyas someone who was expelled from faith academy. I have my opinions that I feel would help some families so they don't make the same mistake my parents did when my parents put me in this school. I remember having the most horrible life there, they always targeted certain families that couldn't do certain things, and for other families would let anything slide. There are a few teachers there that ruined my life and unfortunately my sister has to deal with the worst of all of them. I will leave the teacher unnamed. I feel like I'm better off right now in a public school then I was in faith because it was like prison in there. So many people were so unhappy and many teachers in my current school have heard horrible things about faith academy and feel bad I went there.I think that certain people would like this school and certain people wouldn't. I might write more soon.
Posted by a community member on 2/13/2024The lower school bathrooms are too few & at a distance that disrupts education. Founder director is punitive in approach. Great tension between Sunday School & K class using same rooms. Director management style is disrespectful, micromanagement, poor communicator & yelling @ employees.
Posted by a community member on 12/24/2023Faith has no programs for those with autism spectrum disorder. Teachers are not as qualified as those at many of the Public schools like Saraland, Satsuma, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, and Daphne who all seem to have a higher standard for who they hire. I understand that going to a Christian school may be important but you could also go to church and not expect a school to make your kids behave and be good people. At Saraland you can graduate as an RN. Faith has also had negative publicity over the years. I decided to forgo enrolling my kids there due in part to suspect hiring practices. They have always baseball crazy. Baseball kids do get a better shake than other students and athletes. I have also heard rumors of other issues with teachers (Coaches in particular). I personally know one of them and said person shouldn’t teach anyone or anything yet there they are at Faith amassing complaints of inappropriate behavior while Faith does nothing. Why go to a poor performing private school when you have three schools in Mobile and Baldwin that are too 10 in the state? (Saraland is the 4 best district in the state).
Posted by a community member on 8/26/2023Take the other reviews how you will … FA has been excellent in my opinion …. Remember this is a private school … they don’t have too and will not put up with trouble students …. Not all kids can handle the discipline and strict rules and that will reflect in other’s reviews … the faculty has always been upfront and respectful … the education my children have received has been great and have always felt the school takes care of the kids … after school events are always peaceful and fun … facilities are clean
Posted by a parent on 7/18/2023We had 2 kids attending Faith since middle school/elementary school. We’ve had second thoughts about our decision to remove them a few years ago, but as my daughter pointed out: the favoritism is still just as bad as it was when we left. If your kid isn’t a teachers kid or star athlete, they are not given the same attention or grace. The real world is going to be a rude awakening for these kids who are coddled by the teachers and staff. You don’t have to take my word for it; look at their pictures and yearbooks-it’s the same kids in all of the photos. While other kids, like my daughter, who wasn’t an athlete but will be a registered nurse this year, are treated completely different. She will happily help any patient in the emergency room, as she should. But it will be ironic when the “teachers” from Faith show up and want special care knowing how they treated her (and our youngest) the whole time. We should have left years before we did.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been great at hosting events in which parents can be involved. Children are rewarded when they behave and are encouraged to do better. The school staff is very friendly. My son has done very well at this school.Parent Review4y ago - West Mobile Baptist Church

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son had a terrible experience at this school. It was so bad in fact that we pulled him out to home school after one year. We found this school cared more about fundraising than their students. Their method to education is outdated. In kindergarten I watched my son's teacher scream in his face that he wasn't trying hard enough-to the point that he started crying. My son would wiggle in line because he was 5 years old and that is age appropriate, they would discipline him by forcing him to sit out of P.E! There was no guarantee that they would have recess and it was definitely not a priority. We liked some of the staff but overall we were completely unimpressed with the level of education. My son's teacher could care less about the progress he made or if he even mastered the work. My son hated going to school and would beg to not go. When my son attended there was very little parent involvement or opportunities to join the kids in the classroom or school. I'm so thankful we pulled him out to home school, moved out of state and now have him in an excellent school. It's the complete opposite of Taylor-White. The students are seen as individuals, specific issues are promptly addressed, physical exercise is a huge focus and if kids have learning differences the teachers will modify things to accommodate them with or without an IEP.Parent Review5y ago
