I mean if they actually want the middle schools work then they should stop taking teachers out of class just to go to some meeting, while they could be teaching their students. If you really care about your childs education and discipline you would not want to pick hankins middle school for your children to attend in neither grades 6,7, or 8 why because the way they handle their discipline rulesare not sometimes very fair and there not handle to perfection they spend to much

Teachers at Hankins pick favorites. The others are just there, not much attention paid to them. Teachers receive and make personal phone calls on their personal cell phone during class. Dress code states boys can have 1 earring, but some teachers make them remove them in their class or cover them up.

... Read more trouble in Algebra as a young student, that carried on into high school because of a lack of consistancy in the teachers. Many teachers that I had made me feel like I didn't have a brain when I asked a question. Here is a little clue: It's not the straight A students that need all the help, it's those that struggle. This school needs to be reevaluated by the Board of Education. I tried to contact the teachers as well as the office staff concerning my child and the problems she was having. No one listened until it was too late. This school does not function on a normal basis and how can students learn when the teachers

... Read more the postive aspects of school and motivate the kids to make good grades and stay out of trouble. As I am sure in all schools, there are a few teachers in the 8th grade that are tenured and have lost their zeal to teach and should probably be replaced but it is only a few and the other teachers make up for their lack of motivation. I have been very impressed with Ms. Wittners involvement in the children and in the extra-curricular activities. She supports the children teachers and parents in our community. Read less

Advanced Placement
