Probably the most important reason for sending your child to Monroe Academy is that it is a safe and secure environment- students are not bringing drugs and weapons to school- our students are respectful and well mannered. Lastly, the curriculum is excellent- and we are a Blue Ribbon School meaning that we meet or exceed the Alabama Independent School Association's criteria and we are approved by SACS. Read less

We have two children at Monroe Academy and we are very pleased with the teachers and the curriculum that they are taught. There is also the opportunity to participate in music (choir and band) athletics and art programs - the talent in the school is phenomenal. My children have learned about other cultures and countries. The teachers are great; they are there b/c they love to teach and want to be there. We enrolled our two children in Monroe Academy in August 2005. MA is a private school that raises the bar on academia. The students test grade levels higher. The teachers and parents have made us feel like family. We have easily become involed in this short time. It is helpful that MA encourages manners

I have three children in Monroe Academy. We feel our children are getting the best education they can have. It is great to be able to be envolved in the school. Most of all I appreciate the Christian views taught in the system.

It saddens me the think in this day and age that segregation is so prevalent. It's most than evident in this school. I wanted my children to continue their private education but not in a school where everyone is the same race. That's just not real world, diversity is important.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
