Teachers here and in the Huntsville City school system are looking out for our children and found some issues with my youngest I would have never noticed. I am a proud parent of a child who attends at Chaffee. The school is just wonderful. The teachers and staff are great and really nice. My son is on the A B Honor Roll at Chaffee so I am a very proud parent and love to tell people about Chaffee Elementary School.

I went to Chaffee. It's a nice school, the teacher's are great, and were a big help. Although, I can't say I liked the carpeted floors, non-divided classrooms, and detached gym.

... Read more lunchroom or allow children to sit in the library instead of standing out there alone in the cold or extreme heat. Because sometimes paren't may need to be at work by 730 or so....But after 730 there is an adult stanidng outside but before there is no adult out there and i refuse to just leave my daughter outside without an adult...so i wish they could come up with an alternative to make the morning drop offs a little safer so the parents won't worry about someone coming and getting thier children..overall great school however. Chaffee has been a wonderful school that we are very proud to be a part of. The teachers and administration are very caring and create a safe and warm atmosphere for the children to learn in. Chaffee is a great school! K-2 really pushes reading and memorizing math facts in a positive environment.(Phonics worksheets in 1st gr. were not real fun, but their program Works so I'm not complaining.) Employees know students and call them out by name for positive reinforcement or needed correction. The majority of parents are involved in some aspect of school life, as work schedules allow. Chaffee has great parental involvement, which I believe is the key to a school's excellence. It is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The school is small enough that the school staff knows most of the children by name.

Chaffee is a great school. It is small and a bit old. However, the teachers and staff are of the highest quality. There is great parent involvement and sometimes seems like a private school. Chaffee is the best kept secret in Huntsville.

Advanced Placement
