We love the Foley Middle School. After coming from the ridged intermediate school, my son is happier and doing very well in class. The band program is outstanding, the principal is one who connects with the students. I have a good email relationship with all my son's teachers. Great communication

The teachers dont seem to help the children when they need it. They just expect them to know how. My son failed last year b/c of being absent too much b/c of being ill. They then passed him anyway b/c of his age and now hes failing again b/c he doesnt understand how to do the work and we cant get anyone

My son has gone to Foley Middle for 2 yrs. He has had the worst experience at this school, not only him but myself as well. His 6th grade yr the principal was no help, assisant principal she helped. I tried getting a conference with his teachers never heard anything back. He dealt with bullies almost
... Read more on a ever day basis. His 7th grade yr was no better with bullies. The new principal he was wonderful with meeting with me and calling me back dealing with the issues with my son. I did get a conference with his teachers this yr. I tried calling the school board about the issues with my son never got a call back.The new principal cant change this school alone he needs help from the staff and other sources in Foley. I love the new administration. They are really trying to get the children under control. Foley Middle School has not been a good experience. We have not been impressed with the Administration, and parental involvement is severely lacking. The school is in need of repairs for essentials such as water fountains, towel dispensers, soap, paint, etc. School rules seem to be the order of the
... Read more day, and sometimes take priority over educational content. Mass punishment instead of attention to the individual at fault is standard procedure. We really need strong vocal involvement at this school. A difference can be made if the commitment is there. By the way, our daughter is a straight A student, and does not get into trouble, so those items mentioned above are not 'sour grapes'. Some teachers there really care, but attendance at open house is not mandatory, and lacking in total participants. Read less

Advanced Placement
