The school is based more on the concept of a juvenile correction facility verses an academic environment. The focus should be on education not on who is talking in the hallways and mass punishment. Students are not inspired in the environment they are in. Parental involvement is limited to nonexisting.

There is not enough emphasis placed on the academics of the children. The fifth and sixth graders are not allowed to aprticipate in anything but the band program which is the best part of Daleville City Schools. Unfortunately, we live in the school district and have not choice but to send our kids
... Read more to school there but would move them in a minute if it became possible. There are always harder kids to discipline than others but i am discouraged by the time my child spends paying for the behavior of other children. My child is not a discipline problem but is punished with the others instead of being rewarded for good behavior and grades. We too spend way too much time on homework. Read less

This school is pretty bad, my son attended the 5th grade there and I was very disappointed in the whole system. They have a couple of teacher who really care and try but the administrators do not support the teachers who actually try and care about your child.

There are no extra curricular programs for 5th graders, the academics are not challenging. The teachers spend most of their time disciplining rather than teaching. There are no art or music classes available, and p.e. is just walking around a track.

My son attended Daleville Middle school until this school year. (04-05). I spent 2-3 hours per night teaching him what should have been taught during class time. Unless you were born and raised in Daleville or are ploiticly involved in the welfare of the administration your child will struggle. After transfering my child to Enterprise Jr, he has gone from a C-D student to an A-B student and completes his homework on his own without too much help or instruction from my wife or me. Removing him from Daleville was the best thing I have done for the future of my child. Read less

Advanced Placement
