Coosa Valley E.S. has had a strong academic background for a number of years. The education given to students at C.V.E.S. is the best in the school system. I have watched this school as a student, and now as a parent.

My child has been in this school for 4 years and it has been an overall wonderful experience. We have loved all of his teachers except one. We are also finding that this same teacher really cares when we thought she didn't. Although we have had a rocky start this year we are looking foward to a good

We have been in this school for 4-5 years and have had some good experiences. Most of the teachers are hard working and get the kids involved. Several are not and those are who we ended up with. The more I attempted to get involved the more I was pushed away.

CVES is a great school with teachers who are eager to teach and learn. The PTO is active in giving the school a look that makes the children want to come to school in the mornings. As is common in Alabama fundraisers are a necessary evil but instruction is always the first priority at this school.

I read the comments already listed from parents. While I respect their opinion and understand that a bad experience with administration/staff could have influenced it, I must disagree. Coosa Valley overall has wonderful, caring, loving teachers who come early and stay late...even into the late night
... Read more hours preparing for their students. Tremendous amounts of money are spent out of these teacher's paychecks each month to purchase resources to teach the children. More than 3/4 of the faculty have master degrees and those who don't are seeking them. Professional development is constant among the teachers. My children attended this school and I volunteer daily. The tests scores are consistently higher than any other elementary school in the system. Once Coosa Valley students reach high school, the majority are the leaders, cheerleaders, Beta Club Members and scholarship winners. I highly recommend that anyone interested in CVES research this school and not rely on a few negative comments. Read less

The school exterior has had a 'face-lift' but the interior needs some remodeling as it is blah and depressing. The teachers don't seem excited about teaching - they seem to do the minimum to get by. The children don't get fired up about learning like they should.
