I enjoy sending my son to this school, we have been here since my son was in the 3rd grade (now in 6th) and the growth that we have seemed is huge. This does put a large strain on everyone but over all they seem to be cooping. I am also excited about the new middle school that is being constructed
... Read more and look forward to my son moving over to it after winter break. As for the student to teacher ratio there are 127 students in the 6th grade and only 5 teachers so you do the math. Next year the school will be K-4 and that will help tremendously with space. When it comes to homework the key is which grade is your child in, 3rd and 5th have a lot of homework because they have ARMT testing, other than that the homework is not bad. Read less

I think White Plains elementary is a really good school. The valley I live in used to be small, and isolated. People are coming here so their children can benefit from our culture, values and way of life. The people I grew up with do their best to accommodate the influx of folks seeking a better way.

This school is the worst school I have ever sent my kids to.I really do not see how there scores are so good on the testing. Hours of homework only to make failing grades. They expect you to teach your child not the teachers. As for special education what special education. We have recently changed schools.My

... Read more year or two that the smart (Dynamic)students are recognized more than the average students that really try hard but just can't excel high enough. There's an enrichment program offered to these gifted children I guess to make them smarter, but no tutoring or extra help offered to make the average kids smarter.Whats the problem here? When a child works hours on end on homework each week and doesn't do good on a test, shouldn't that put up a red flag? And I think the homework is ridiculous! 4 and 5 hours a night? Read less

I am very proud that my daughter is attending White Plains Elementary. I feel that White Plains is an eceptional school. The teachers and staff are very helpful. The Parents are encouraged to participate in the childrens school activities. Test scores are great here also. My daught will receive the best

We have a Great School! Our Teachers are well qualified and caring, and our Vice-Principal and Principal are excellent and always available to us. The remainder of the staff is also well qualified and helpful. Our Parents stay involved and volunteer whenever they are needed. All of these things combined

Advanced Placement
