I am a parent of 2 children that have been through Bottenfield. There are a handfull of teachers that actually TEACH, the rest use their class time to gossip or are on the computer. My daughter has asked for help from teachers about school work that she doesn't understand and she is told to sit down.

If you have a problem with a teacher and talk to Dr. Maye in confidence so that repremanding to your child doesn't happen. Well she doesn't believe in that apparently. It happened top my daughter last year and because I complained about the unprofessionalism of a female coach. I am personally exstatic that my other 2 will NOT be attending there. Read less

The staff at BMS are unprofessional and very unorganized. They are inconsistent and not concerned with educating the children. Discipline is the main concern and academics is the least concern. The children are not allowed to tell their version of a conflict. The teachers don't listen when students

I was a former student at BMS and quite frankly I think that it is horrible. Some teachers dont teach some teachers do and give too much work and assignments for these kids. The principal Dr. Maye has no control what so ever over the school, no one listens to her and she acts as if she really knows

I think Mr. Evans should come back because when he was there everything was great we had more extracurricular activities like flag girls and a dance team, we just recently had majorettes, last year, but they dont have them this year. And some of those teachers up there have some of the worst attitudes and they act just like kids themselves especially one teacher she always wants to catch attitudes. Anyways parents that are reading this dont send your kids there it's horrible. Take it from me. Read less

I am currently a student at Bottenfield Middle School, and while it might have been good a while back, and it might look nice to the parents, it is horrible. Torn up materials, paint chipping on the walls, consistant problems with the air conditioning. Just in one year. And the students themselves.

I do understand that the best thing to do is ignore it, but when you go home in tears almost every day, it becomes a problem that the teachers and administrators will not and do not even try to stop. I have nothing but praise for the Teachers and Staff at this school.
