9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is marketed as a STEAM and Mandarin magnet school. The World Language program has not had a Chinese teacher since October and has been unable to keep a Chinese teacher for a whole year for many years. The teachers have had no training in STEAM as well. There has been no EC teacher for students who need it the entire year and teachers who are not certified in Special Education are doing EC services and taking away the needs and support of other students they serve. There are many safety concerns with this school as it is very outdated.Teacher Review3y ago5 Reviews - Grey Culbreth Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student here a couple years ago and it was one of the worst experiences ever. the staff is incredibly messy, the counselors and the ladies at the front would constantly pick on students or even get involved in the “middle school drama” the principal at the time was also incredibly rude and almost ruined my reputation from false allegations. it seriously felt like i was fighting for my life every single day here. i couldn’t even be in the bathroom for a second without a teacher coming in there yelling at me and accusing me of skipping a class that i don’t even have with them? i seriously don’t like this school a lot of the teachers are so messy and weird pls save ur time and send ur kid somewhere else.Student Review4mo ago21 Reviews - East Chapel Hill High School

"There is tons of traffic during normal rush hours. Then during off hours it’s just generally busy. Many of the roadways are too narrow for the amount of cars utilizing them. "

The city of Chapel Hill workers are competent, efficient and take pride in their work. Lots of our roads have recently been repaved."

"Your days will be less difficult if you’re at all able to avoid the rush hour windows of 6:30-9:30am, lunch hours, and 3-7pm. The congestion is ridiculously thick, and at this point of heavy convergence: Fordham/15-501, Hwy 54E&W/Raleigh Rd, and an on/off ramp for I-40 less than 2 miles away, the roads are absolutely overwhelming now. Do expect traffic to quadruple (at the VERY least) as soon as just a handful of new developments reach completion. UGH!!"

"I nanny in the area, my two kids have lots of playdates and my neighbors are pretty awesome. The area is residential, no college students really, and a short 20-30 min walk to whole foods, traders Joe's or Harris teeter. There's also University Mall, and a movie theater so lots to do on a pretty day. I've lived in this area for 12 years. Raising a family here and I love it."

"They would fit right in with all the other dog owners. I’m not one though. Some yards need fences. Dogs are a lot of work, and sometimes your friends won’t want them coming along for dinner as part of the social contract. In short, I don’t want a dog, but lots of others around here do."
