Description

Welcome to historic Grayton Beach. This home is located on the eastern side of what we fondly refer to as "Old Grayton". The features of the home include: an oversized driveway with plenty of parking; a large front porch with old growth, scrub oaks in the front yard and surrounding properties giving it the true feel of "Old Grayton"; very spacious living, dining and kitchen areas; two nice size bedrooms downstairs and two extra large bedrooms upstairs; 3 of the bedrooms have their own private bathroom and the 4th has a bathroom that is shared with the living and dining area; the overall floor plan is very functional and spacious; there is a large back porch overlooking a very nice swimming pool and large pool deck. The back porch, pool and pool deck provide the perfect space for barbecues, fish fries or good ole low country shrimp and crawfish boils. This home is a "must see" and would "stand alone" at any location. However, in real estate nothing beats location and this home has LOCATION!!! First of all it is located in Grayton Beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire world. The sugar white sands and emerald green waters are unsurpassed anywhere. Grayton is surrounded on three sides by the Grayton Beach State Park and on the southern side by the Gulf of Mexico. Thanks to the state park system there are large areas of untouched natural sand dunes on the eastern and western borders. To get into Grayton Beach you have to turn off of CR-30A, thus it is considerably more secluded than many of the neighboring towns such as Seaside. Despite the ongoing progression of land development and growth in the area, Grayton has managed to maintain much of its original character as a sleepy little fishing village. It is Old Florida at its best! Charter boats and recreational fisherman bring in the finest catches of fish one will ever see. There are around 10 restaurants located within a 1/4 mile radius of the town. These restaurants provide a wide range of dining options. There is the somewhat famous Red Bar, Pandoras Steak House, Shortys (who will cook your catch), the Broken Egg (great for breakfast), Borago fine dining, coffee shops and more. There is also a local convenience store on the corner of CR-30A as you come into Grayton. A block and a half from the house is a county maintained, public, beach access boardwalk. Half a block south of the home is a county maintained, public boat ramp and dock, on Western Lake. This access to Western lake provides a wonderful opportunity for small boat, kayak, and YOLO board excursions. Grayton Beach is located on the western part of Western Lake which we call "Grayton Lake" it is connected to the eastern portion or "Big Lake" by a small creek like waterway which we call "Big Lake Pass". Once into Big lake there is literally miles of pristine, state park maintained, estuaries to explore. Its awesome, it truly is! As a coastal dune lake, one of only a few in the world, Grayton Lake also periodically opens and drains into the Gulf through what we fondly refer to as the "Pass". Thus, one can also leave from the dock and easily go to the beach via a small boat, kayak or YOLO board. For over 100 years the Pass has been a favorite for swimmers who prefer the calmer, less salty, shallow water. Let us tell you more about this amazing house in this amazing place. "My neighbors are very friendly. The landscaping is always very well attended to. I wish that there were more street lights I also would like local businesses to consider the locals more. The visitors are here for mb a week yet we contribute all year long. Plus we have established friendships."
  • Jkuribe
"Beautiful beaches. Kind neighbors. Great restaurants. A fun place to vacation and live. Safe for children to ride there bikes. 30 A is the place to be. Everything is at your fingertips."

"This is a great place with a curfew for underage kids , lots of family friendly activities and adult activities as well great restaurants, a church , seaside school, and plenty of shops!"
  • Trulia User
"Very dog friendly area. They bring water bowls to your table at an outdoor restaurant for the dogs. The only real problem I see with the dogs is that a lot of people do not pick up after them. They even provide doggy poo bags and a place to put it. Very disturbing. "
  • Trulia User
"There are a lot of places you can walk to or bike to. Restaurants, ice cream, General Store, beach. People are super nice and friendly. There is a lot of musical entertainment around. People always ask where the name comes from since there are no mountains. I pull out my phone and show them the beautiful pictures I have of the blue flowers all over the area 😁"
  • Trulia User
"Pros: There is green space and plenty of pick up points. There are a lot of dogs out on leash. Cons: Too many people and horrendous traffic. "
  • Trulia User
"VERY dog friendly, some let their dogs off leash in the neighborhood which does cause some issues, walk/bike path gets seasonally crowded making dog walking difficult at times but is a great place to walk dogs at night "
  • Trulia User
"Bonfires on the beach, block parties celebrating local restaurants and retail, strong year round local population leads to “happy hour” walking the neighborhood at sunset time "
  • Trulia User
"We live in a condo and the people that live here full time are like a family. We have cookouts together and hang by the pool. There are Art Festivals, music festivals and wine festivals. There is always something fun going on. "
