You might look at http://www.apartmentratings.com (click on north carolina and then chapel hill) for useful feedback on many apartments from former and present tenants. Chapel Hill has many rental properties (being a College town) but price usually (though not invariably) reflects quality and you should definitely inspect in person any apartment before committing yourself to a rental. Chapel Hill and Carrboro are relatively small towns with a free bus service to many (though not all) areas so you do not have to live in the more expensive centers. - Fri Nov 6 2009, 08:15
