I am the President of McLemore Auction Company, LLC. I specialize in real estate and personal property auctions in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
I have been involved in the auction industry since I was in high school, working for auctioneers in Nashville, Tennessee on breaks and weekends. I graduated from Yale University with a degree in English in 1998.
I studied auctioneering at the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point, NC, and then went on to work in the contemporary art department at Sotheby’s in New York.
I served as a salesperson with J. P. King Auction Company in Gadsden, Alabama from 1999 until my promotion to Regional Vice President in 2003. As Regional Vice President, I managed J. P. King’s business in the Southwestern United States. With J. P. King, I arranged several of its high profile sales including the sale of Barbara Mandrell’s home, Fontanel, among many others.
During 2005 and 2006, I developed a real estate auction division for the world’s largest industrial auction company, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. During his tenure, I grew sales in the United States from zero in 2004 to more than $15 million in 2006.
In December 2006, I founded McLemore Auction Company, LLC and opened its Nashville headquarters. I created the company to bring a high quality auction service based on leading edge technology to owners of real estate and personal property in Tennessee.
I am a member of the Tennessee Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association. I hold real estate and auction licenses in multiple states. I received the prestigious Certified, Auctioneers’ Institute (CAI) designation from the Auction Marketing Institute, now the National Auctioneers Association Education Institute, in 2003.
