NASA is about the announce the location of a major energy research center here in Loveland or somewhere in Northern Colorado. Aerospace Clean Energy Manufacturing and Innovation Park, a joint project of NASA and the Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology. Sources close to the negotiating say that it almost a 90% certainty to be located in Loveland due to the quality of living and the vacant HP plant that meets their space requirements. This is a joint venture with the Federal Government, the State of Colorado and private industry. Basically NASA will be sharing their huge portfolio of technology patents with private industry in a effort to bring to market more efficient forms of alternate energy to the market place. If this occurs it will bring 7,000 to 10,000 new jobs and over 100 companies to the area to work with NASA. This will have a dramatic effect on the local housing market in the next 3-5 years.
