Yes it is most likely a scam. If you contacted the "landlord" you would get a sob story about how they had to move out of the country and just don't want to see their home empty, and please just send us the deposit and we will send the keys, no credit check needed- you get the idea. There have been many where they pull the pictures of homes for sale off of the internet and post it as for rent. The true home owner has no idea.
