Hi Jenn
Burke Drive is in a community here in Shippensburg that is restricted to 55+ adults, commonly known as a senior community. It is also a community where you do not own the land but have a long term lease, so in addition to your house purchase you will you will need to take into account the monthly "lot rent" payment. There are a number of homes available in that community, as well as in other neighborhoods where you would own both house AND the land.
Hope that helps

can you tell me if this has a well and septic?

Mim Heisey answered:
Naticia,
Although most homes that are in rural sections of this area have well and septic, there are some small communities that do have public water, and or Public sewer, This is not in one of them. :(
Most bare land being offered for sale needs a well to be drilled and a septic system to be installed.. Are you looking for land, only? or property that has a home on it. Any Realtor in the area has good access to MLS info and can get you information about them. A few of us also keep active files on where public utilities are active, or slated to be going in. MAke sure you contact someone that is up to date on the information that you are seeking.

Hope that helps.

Stephanie,
Dorothy is right. There is a lot of informationout there on the innernet these days-- some is current and a lot is not! There are a lot of RSS/feeds and other supply sources for that info to get onto sites like Trulia, Zillow, Active Rain, etc. (and that is agood thing for consumers), but there are not as many carefully thought out controls to see that old info gets deleted.
My experience is that the local MLS has the most accurate info, and in fact supplies feeds to REALTOR.com and (often 2 -or 3 -or 4 steps away) to other sites. Whether or not the sites are cleaned out on a regular basis is another matter.
Innernet is a good place to start your search and gives you an idea of what prices people HAVE BEEN asking, but current SOLD prices are a better guage.
Hope that helps. - Mon Aug 3 2009, 07:18
