The process time all relies on the lender...but the most important action is great communication with the bank. Now a days, lenders have hundreds of files on their desk. Make sure when the short sale package is submitted it has a checklist on the front page. This will help the lender see you have submitted a complete package. Also, Follow-ups are very important. Make sure the package was received...COMPLETELY through the fax...and to the right person. Another lesson I learned, make sure a Letter of Authorization is faxed first before the cover sheet. This will hopefully save you 2 weeks. Remember, Lenders don't have time to teach you over the phone. That's why hire someone that can help you submit a complete package...CHECKLIST is the key.
