The first step to take, if you haven't already, is for your husband to dispute any bills on his report that do not belong to him. At http://www.annualcreditreport.com you can get one free credit report from ALL three credit bureaus each year. You will have the opportunity to dispute any items on each report that you do not agree with. Make sure to visit each of the three bureaus. Each creditor must respond to the dispute within 30 days. I know several people who have cleared up credit issues this way.
If you have income and good credit you might consider buying in your name only.
It is very difficult to find a lease to own, or even a nice rental in 72472 area. I understand your problem.
Good luck Mrs. Hodges. - Thu Oct 1 2009, 05:45
