Rbarrera1,

Tax rates in Texas are not calculated based on cost, but rather tax assessed value. As a non-disclosure state these numbers (cost vs. tax assessed value) can vary widely. A home that sells for $148,000 could be assessed at $120,000 or $155,000 (arbitrary numbers for example purposes). Also, as mentioned, the tax rates are variable depending on where the home is located.

Your best bet is to look up the home at http://www.bcad.org (if the property is in Bexar County) and doing a property search. Your agent can also pull these numbers for you. Remember, the values you pull up will be for the last assessment, so the taxes may not be exact when tax time comes around.

Hope that helps!

Maha,

The home you linked to is listed as a notice of foreclosure auction by RealtyTrac. This would mean that it is not available through our MLS system, but rather you would have to appear on the courthouse steps and take part in a true auction for the property (if it makes it all the way to that step - sometimes homeowner's can avoid going all the way to foreclosure). In order to do so, you need to have financing ready and available - by the end of the day. Typically these auctions are attended by investors who are paying cash or have access to loans through relationships with lenders that they have cultivated over time.

Justin is correct that there is one home currently on the market on Lockberry Lane. It is not a foreclosure.

Any of the agents here can assist you, but you should pick an agent for more than just who is capable of showing to you. Pick up the phone and call a few or send some of us an email. Ask questions and see if you feel comfortable with this person...then sit down with them, have them explain how they work and become their client by signing a buyer representation agreement. A good solid agent-client relationship will help you find the home you're looking for and get your from an offer to the day you get your keys! Particularly with foreclosure data on this site, you will find a lot of half-information, incorrect information, changed information, etc. It's the nature of the foreclosure side of housing and the way they collect their data.

Hope that helps!
