Richard was born and raised on Long Island and attended Oneonta State College in upstate New York, where he graduated with a major in English and minor in business. He then set out for the West Coast and landed in Seattle, where he was hired by a fledgling startup company called Amazon.com that he helped turn into the premier e-commerce website in the world. From there he set out to the Lost Coast of Northern California to write the great American novel before returning to New York City and landing a job with Veranda Magazine. After that he moved to Maryland and began a career in journalism, but along the way he and his wife made a couple of lucrative real estate investments that set his sights on a career in real estate.
Richard quickly became a recognized and respected name in New York City real estate. His keen eye and extensive knowledge of the market combined with his honesty, integrity, and ability to tell it like it is has made Richard an invaluable resource for buyers and sellers. His efforts marketing the Delany Lofts Condominiums on West 115th Street made it one of the most successful new developments in Harlem.
In less than two years as an agent with two of New York City's top real estate firms, Richard sold nearly $12 million worth of real estate, an impressive number for a virtual newcomer, especially in a declining market. Now, with the knowledge and expertise he acquired during that time, Richard has opened his own shop to provide the personal service that no firm large or small can provide. He works with buyers, sellers, and renters in all neighborhoods of Manhattan.
This is a great time to buy or rent real estate in New York, and Richard knows where to find the best value for each client's needs. He realizes the importance of relationships and fully understands the stresses involved with buying and selling a home, and his experience in real estate sales as well as having been a homeowner enables him to reduce much of the stress of dealing with some of the unsavory characters one encounters in the real estate industry. He knows how to guide buyers and sellers through each step of the process and is a savvy negotiator able to close a deal at the best possible price. Real estate is a difficult business, which is why it is important to be represented by an experienced broker who is easy to work with and who can eliminate the stress of trying to figure out each step in the process on your own.
