Thanks for the responses. The house is for my parents who are retiring, they will be paying cash and they do not want to pay more than 200k. There is alot of inventory in that price range. The unemployment level in this area is higher than the national average which is affecting the rest of the areas economy. Our agent is constantly telling us about all these great deals that buyers are getting, 30k-50k less than asking price, some cases alot more, with upgrades included. But for some reason, we have to pay full price. I have also been helping my parents look for fsbo's. The fsbo part is my concern. Even though i am still on the fence about this agent my parents are working with, I know what it feels like to show people houses and then have them go and buy a fsbo. I just don't want this to cause a concern because I was probably going to go to work in this person's office after I finally get set up down here. Should I continue to help my parents go behind the back of the agent and look for fsbo's? I can find all the comp info I need to help them determine a price for any house. - Tue Oct 6 2009, 06:10
