About:

Michele A. Peters came to the practice of law in 1999 after a prior successful eleven year career in real estate brokerage. A graduate of New York Law Michele A. A graduate of New York Law School and Syracuse University, she was formerly an associate with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, NY in their corporate restructuring / bankruptcy department. Ms. Peters went on to providing counsel to residential housing co-operative boards of directors; handled landlord-tenant matters; collections; general business law; discrimination; as well as real estate transactional matters.
Prior to opening her real estate firm, Weichert Realtors - Peters Associates (2005), she was in-house counsel and director of sales for Manhattan's largest independently owned real estate firm supervising over 250 agents.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Peters was the Sales Director for the Chase Manhattan Bank work-out sales effort led by the Corcoran Group in Manhattan. This work led to her study of bankruptcy as an attorney.
She is a New Jersey Court Appointed Mediator participating in the Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation program. Additionally, she is the Exclusive Site-Selector for the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York finding homes for the Developmentally Disabled in New York City, a position she has held since 2006.
Today she offers her expertise to clients in Foreclosure Defense,Short Sales, and Consumer Bankrtupcy. She has an office in Midtown Manhattan, New York, and in North Haledon, New Jersey.
Ms. Peters owns the real estate firm, Weichert, Realtors - Peters Associates, located in Mid-town Manhattan where her select group of associate brokers and sales persons can assist clients in marketing and sales.
While in law school, Ms. Peters interned for Judge Jane Solomon in New York's Supreme Court, and the Hon. Cornelius Blackshear in the S.D.N.Y. Bankruptcy Court.
A member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, as well as the New York County Lawyers Association and the City Bar of New York, Ms. Peters is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey, as well as the States of New York and New Jersey.
Ms. Peters is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) for which she served as co-chair of the Small Firms Committee, is a current member of REBNY's InterFirm Forum and Economic Development Committee; the National Association of Realtors; New York State and the Manhattan Association of Realtors. what towns would you recommend in bergen county for a family who is moving out of manhattan? my husband's commute will be to and from the bronx,

I strongly recommend in New Jersey looking at Glen Rock, Ridgewood, and Allendale. I live in Ridgewood and work in Manhattan. Determine what areas he will be commuting to the most because that will dictate to go to north or south Jersey. More southernly I recommend Short Hills, New Brunswick -- and I'm sure you'll get many more recommendations.
