Born and raised in Louisville, KY (Pleasure Ridge Park, specifically), graduating from Doss High School in June 1972. On June 13, 1972 I joined the U.S. Air Force and serve most of my time in Columbus, Ohio as a jet mechanic on the KC-135 Tanker/refueler.
After my service, I returned home and worked construction for a short period of time while attending Jefferson Community College where I took mostly real estate courses. I was licensed to sell real estate in July 1975. I sold for one year in Louisville with Gibson/Phannenschmidt Realtors before taking a job with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and moving to Bowling Green, Ky and except for a one year stint at another job, have lived in Bowling Green since--about 34 years. While at
Barren River Lake with the Corps of Engineers, I attended Western Kentucky University. In the fall of 1979 I became a full time student.
I am married to the former Elinor Dunn and have four great children ages: 31, 27, 24, and 16. Two boys and two girls. All are gifted in what they do and we are proud of them. All are now married except the youngest, John, whom is a sophomore at Bowling Green High. Our oldest son, Micah, is married to a beautiful lady from Mobile, Alabama, Kate Holmes Salsman, and they live in Birmingham, Alabama, where Micah will be practicing Law and Kate is a Physical Therapist. Heidi, our oldest daughter, met and married a very fine man at church camp, Chad Flannery from Louisville, KY and Chad works for Vincennes University, Jasper Campus. Heidi and Chad make their home in Santa Claus, Ind. with our beautiful and extremely intelligent/talented granddaughter, Savannah Grace.Heidi is a Mary Kay Consultant and getting her business-start off the ground in grand style. Karen Anne, our youngest daughter, is a nurse at Louisville's Baptist East Hospital and married a very fine man from Georgetown, Ky and a recent UK civil engineering graduate and employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville, Kentucky.
After stints in the Printing business, Office supply business and the Insurance business I came back to my roots, real estate and adding auctioneering. I have made my living doing what I love to do and have had some exceptional experiences at the same time. My most memorable would be travelling to Liverpoole, England in April 1988 selling Construction equipment. In two days selling, we sold over $13,000,000 of equipment. We met people from all over the world. We sold in pounds not dollars and had interperters for all the foreign buyers. Great experience!
