I was a Broker in Oklahoma for almost 30 years, after graduating from the Cox School of Business located at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. During those years, I built a patio home project from the development stage to completion. Homes ranged in size from 1800 square feet up to 3500 square feet. A townhome project also from development to completion consisted of 11 units in two buildings and was an in-fill project. I worked with HOA requirements on both projects. The major focus however, during this period was on Property Management. Leasing, maintenance, and keeping all necessary records. I moved my Broker's License to Tennessee in 2007 and still maintain my membership in the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors, in Johnson City, Tennessee. My affiliation there is with Whitehead Realty and Auction, in Elizabethton, Tennessee. We have a 40 acre farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains just above Lake Watauga. In 2010, I received a Sales Associate License in Texas, where I live and work on Upper Padre Island, within the Corpus Christi, city limits. I write a real estate column for the local Island Moon newspaper and I write a weekly blog for our company website. Currently, I have two charities that I volunteer to support. I am hoping to move forward on plans to write a history of our Island and create a historical museum and Visitors Center. Time and funding are always at a premium. I look back fondly on the six years that I lived in The Netherlands and look forward to visiting our boat in Taragona Spain, near Barcelona. Even though I only speak English, my husband is fluent in Dutch and German, therefore, we can help clients in three languages.
