Having owned 5 homes in the past, but renting for the last 17+ years, I decided to look into the possibility of once again becoming a homeowner. I had a number of realtors in the Aiken area show me listings they had. I was rather surprised and disappointed in what appeared to me to be their lack of knowledge of their properties and lack of enthusiasm in showing them. Even more appalling was that they acted as if they were in a hurry to get rid of me ---they displayed no interest in finding out anything about me, what I liked or disliked, what I was interested in, or what my concerns were. I had almost decided to stop looking, but I ran across one of Mary's listings and decided to view it. Mary was eager to help, and seemed interested in showing me the property. She was very knowledgeable about the house, but more importantly, took the time to find out my interests. She truly make an effort to fairly represent both the seller and me, the potential buyer.
During the entire home buying process, Mary was very supportive and helpful. she kept me informed of the stratus of the myriad details and hurdles that inevitably come up during this process, and, more importantly, she helped surmount them to ensure a rather smooth and painless journey along the home buying highway. In the end, I did purchase the house and am now a happy homeowner enjoying my new home. A large part of this successful endeavor was Mary Derrick; her professionalism, knowledge of her properties, and her interest in both the seller and the potential buyers are a combination not often found in realtors.
I recommend her very highly.
