Before becoming a realtor, Martha Piper was a Managing Director in the investment industry. She traveled worldwide, trading for major investment firms with an international client base. At the same time, Martha was also buying and selling land, remodeling houses, and acting as general contractor on her own building projects. For 25 years, the Berkshires were her weekend refuge, until at last she couldn’t resist, and moved here full-time.
Given her skills and experience, real estate was a natural transition. Now her wide network of clients runs the gamut, from first-time home buyers, to estate buyers and sellers, to developers on large commercial projects. With a reputation for tenacity and integrity, she takes pride in helping all of her clients achieve their goals and dreams.
Martha has both her Broker's license and her Certified Buyer's Representative credentials in MA as well as her NY Broker's license. She is a Certified Negotiations Expert (CNE), a license held by fewer than one percent of Realtors nationally. She has also served on the Board of the Berkshires Board of Realtors.
While some might still give her a hard time for her staunch South Carolinian background, Martha has become a proud part of the Berkshire community. She believes strongly in the preservation of our natural landscape and served for many years on the Egremont Conservation Commission. An avid gardener, she’s on the Board of the Berkshire Botanical Garden. She was on the on the board of the acclaimed Barrington Stage Company for many years. She enjoys golfing, as well as catering to the whims of the two Bearded Collies who share the home she built in Mt. Washington.
