If you are still within the time frames outlined in your agreement and your daughter has fulfilled all her obligations outlined in the contract the sellers most likely have no cause to cancel. You need to talk to an attorney NOW. DO NOT let your daughter sign anything agreeing to a cancellation until you speak with an attorney. And start documenting everything.

What is your daughter's agent saying about all of this?

If the contract was written on a CAR purchase contract there is nothing in the pre-printed portions of the contract that allow a contingency to the seller for a large tax bill due to the gain on the sale. Poor tax planning on the seller's behalf is not your daughter's fault
