About:

I grew up the coal fields and mountains of southwest Virginia and for 20 years lived all over the world and United States with my husband as a military I grew up the coal fields and mountains of southwest Virginia and for 20 years lived all over the world and United States with my husband as a military wife. After my husband retired from the United States Air Force, My family and I have settled in Dobson NC and I joined Carolina Farms & Homes as a Broker in 2004. Besides real estate and family, I am an avid golfer and volunteer my time to help put on the annual Realtors "Tee Up for Habitat" charity golf tournament that benefits the local Habitat for Humanity chapter, and I am the vice president of Cross Creek Ladies Golf Association, member of the Piedmont Ladies Golf Association. I sponsor and coach my son’s team in the Dobson Youth Basketball League and chaperon educational field trips for Surry Central High School’s Jr. ROTC program.
Because I moved so many times with the military, I understand what it is like to relocate to a new community. I work hard with out-of-state families moving to our area to make their transition as easy as possible. My husband and I helped a buyer from Florida move into their new home because they were new to the community. I will go that extra mile for my clients because I hope to call them my friends when their move is complete.
For my sellers I am into technology, I love the Internet and gadgets. Eighty-four percent of real estate that is bought and sold starts on the Internet. Buyers start their shopping for a new home sitting in front of the computer surfing the net. These days your property has to have maximum exposure on the Internet that is where you have the advantage by listing with me. I build property specific websites for all of my listings. They get posted to 43 real estate websites all over the Internet. Your house or property will have its own website in addition to being on my company’s website http://www.carolinafarms.com and my websites and http://www.pilot-mountain-nc-real-estate.com/ & http://www.maggiemccormick.listingbook.com . All of my listings have visual tours the more pictures the better. Just ask any buyer what they want to see on the Internet when shopping for a home it is pictures and visual tours.
For the gadgets I have the talking house program. It is a radio transmitter that is in your house it broadcasts facts about your home. When a prospective buyer pulls up in front of your house sees a sign that says tune your radio to AM 1690 they hear me telling them all about your home. People can't help but tune in! And last but not least I have my blackberry I don't leave home with out it. If someone emails me about your home they get an answer immediately because I have my gadget to answer them now, not tomorrow morning when I get to the office. At what point are you obligated to a realtor?

If you have not signed a buyer agency agreement with your Realtor you are not obligated to them. At least that is how it works in NC. I don't sell in KY. Good luck in finding your new home.
