"This is a letter of recommendation for Dr. Lyuba Hubbard, who helped us through the whole process of buying a house during January to March 2009. We returned to Washington, D.C. area, because my husband resumed his work as a senior economist for the International Monetary Fund, after working for a few years in a different part of the world.

Both my husband and myself were extremely pleased with Lyuba's services. If a buyer/seller wish to deal with someone who is friendly, honest, sincere, and very dedicated in their work, then Lyuba is the person. She is not at all pushy and does not have her own hidden personal agenda (unlike some agents we encountered). A friend recommended Lyuba to us, but before we decided on having her as our realtor, I did quite a thorough market survey and we met and discussed with other realtors as well. We decided to hire Lyuba mainly because we found her to be the most serious and knowledgeable, yet relaxed, of them all. She seemed to snap immediately our taste and what kind of house we wanted.

In all transactions Lyuba was organized, thorough, and personable. Throughout the entire process she was professional, conscientious, practical and motivated. I always felt as though we were her only client, and was surprised when I found out she had a number of settlements during the same period (and this during the present downturn of the economy and housing market....).

Lyuba took the time to explain the positives and negatives of any home with her vast housing knowledge. She offered us an objective viewpoint on each house we toured, thereby helping us with our decisions. But she was also knowledgeable about aspects of realty that surpassed just the legalities of buying a property. Because of her vast experience and practical attitude, she "saved" us from at least two houses that we thought were good, but that in reality had lots of hidden problems that would have been extremely costly in the long term. Perhaps a home inspector would also have found out, but she saved us both time, effort and money. Furthermore we were consistently impressed by her willingness to research questions she couldn't answer right away. For example, she found out all details about "Dry-vit" that had been used in one of the houses we were looking at.

She was always expedient in returning calls, searching for properties,and setting up tours.

I absolutely recommend Lyuba to anybody looking to buy a house, and I plan to recommend her to my friends, when they start looking for houses.
