There really is no way to guarantee a short sale approval in a "timely manner " and the problem is getting worse. The negotiators have up to a thousand files to deal with. Yesterday I took a class from a woman whose son dates a B of A short sale negotiator. She asked her what a Realtor can do to speed up the process. The negotiator said there is not much we can do to speed it up but if the packet is not complete "it goes on the floor." If there are missing signatures and dates "the file goes on the floor." So the best thing we can do is to make sure they have everything they need. She also said that B of A now recognizes that we are going to be in this market for a long time and are going to hire more staff to handle the files.
