Hi Akshay. Congrats...now is a GREAT time to buy -- especially with the $8000 first time homebuyer tax credit!!:)

The first thing you should do is to get prequalified so that you know REALISTICALLY how much home you can afford. I have a number of lenders/brokers that my clients have used with success.....feel free to call me at (610) 324-5240 or email me at Judy.May@Century21.com and I'll give you their contact information.

Next, you should interview 2-4 Realtors and choose the one whom you believe will best represent YOUR interests. Indeed, a buyer's agent will cost YOU nothing.........but will likely save you not only time and stress, but MONEY as well (with negotiation skills as well as insight into the market, etc., an experienced, knowledgeable Realtor could save you THOUSANDS of dollars:)
