I'm a native of west Baltimore and raised my children in Severna Park. We used to go to Patapsco Park I think area 7 or 14? near Marriotsville for our sumer picnics. But yes, Severna Park is child fun. My kids were both very successful in the Severna Park public schools but for more detailed information about the school system I have to defer you to on of the many websites that rate schools:

Maryland is quickly growing into one very large metropolis. The major difference between Marriotsville and Severna Park is the terrain. If you want to be close to water sports Severna Park. If you want mountain biking and hiking than Marriotsville. Both have golf nearby! Many of the neighborhoods in Severna Park have waterfront or water access/water priviledges that convey with the property. My grandfather owned the waterfront house three doors down from where I live today. And we have lived in Iowa, Georgia and Virginia. Talk about fun... fishing crabbing, boating, swimming all summer long. Please let me know if I and the Champion team can be of ANY assistance to your family!
