It is typical in Texas for the builder not to be at closing. They have the documents signed in their office and get them back to the title company. Did you purchase directly from the builder without a Realtor to represent you?

If you did, the sales person working for the builder should have given you the understanding of what to expect prior to closing. They generally only turn them over after your lender has funded the loan. The on-site sales office will have the keys for you. - Mon Nov 30 2009, 20:19
