I rented a condo in uptown a year ago in which Jennifer was representing for the owner. Luckily, I had done my research within the area and within 3 days of the place being availble I scheduled the first visit and agreed on the terms after viewing the property. Very cool place off of blackburn and oak lawn. I knew for the price, location, and time table this was the best place I had seen after visiting 15 locations so it was irrelevant who represented the owner. BUT, after scheduling a visit with Jennifer to show me the location and what she told me I soon realized she was the equivelent to a 45 year old single car salesman in a financially famished community. Anything for the sale she would say. It was only a year ago but at the time I was 25 and had only rented one other location within the area and she obviously thought she could take advantage of my youth. Her arrogance and attitude towards me was very condesending as she thought she was selling me on the unit. This was not the case. At first glance I knew this was a really cool unit and would suffice to my needs along with my roommate. With the real estate market being as hot as it was/currently is you have to be ready to pull the trigger as soon as you view the unit. I was and committed to their terms. I give you this background information so you can base these next facts on her interactions with us: - Told us unit would be ready and professionally cleaned upon arrival which we included in our contract with our real estate agent. We showed up on the afternoon moving date and it was far from being ready for move in. We called her and she assured us team to clean/prep unit would be there that night. FALSE. They weren't there until the next afternoon in which our lease had officially started at 12:01 am = Late. Being young and understanding we let it slide and decided to sweep it under the rug. After moving in and having their crew there a few days had gone by and our "new unit" was completely dirty and dusty and needed a completely new professional clean. We contacted her asking nicely (because again we were young and frankly naive) to have the place professionally cleaned again. At this point, technically she breached contract, not having what we had in writing done. She only agreed to have it professionally cleaned after we requested it because our real estate agent called and threatened to take legal action (2 weeks after moving in). - On top of that, the day we moved in, she came by holding her baby and brought a friend to tag along during the walk through. Took no notes and was completely unprofessional. - Being young and 25 my father felt the fatherly duty to come with me and make sure I wasn't being screwed over. After asking a question to Jennifer and her giving me a total line of crap my father interjected. She then persisted to talk down in the most condescending tone and directly asked him, "Am I talking to you or him? Thank you." Totally escalating the conversation with a stark and rude commit which was completely unnecessary. I took over for my father at that point but had she done any research she would have seen on the contract my father co-signed and indeed did have a say in the matter. Total idiot. I've never written one of these reviews but felt compelled to after rehashing the experience with a fellow friend who just became an agent. PLEASE BEWARE for any buyer or ANYONE using her currently to sell their place - she is a total misrepresentation of a possible awesome unit. (We currently talk directly with the owner who we contacted after several months and informed him of her behavior - he was appalled). If only one person from this benefits then this was a successful post. Frankly, she sucks and we were lucky enough to find a really great unit that allowed us to bypass her crap. GOOD LUCk with your searchers but please don't take that journey with Jennifer Slider!!!!
