Have you considered one of the many manufactured 55+ communities in the North Fort Myers area? There are a number of homes for sale within very well kept communities that have low HOA fees between 80.00 - 120.00/month and you own the land. I feel you can get more square footage for your money as opposed to a condo. Plus you get all the amenities and sometimes more than what is offered in condo communities. Most the these communities have a lot of activities that you can involve yourself in if you want...dances, parties and such. Some of the communities that I am personally knowledgable about are Lake Arrowhead, Forest Park, Lazy Days, Laurel Estates and a few more. Now the matter of what you mean by "initial cost". Most of these homes are priced between 50,000 - 80,000. Depending upon the age of the home, financing may be an issue. I hope this helps to give you another perspective in considering your purchase!
